HangulTap uses a simple spaced repetition algorithm to help you learn Korean hangul fast and effectively. The algorithm will keep track of your performace, and show you less known hangul more often than better known ones, letting you focus on those that give you the most trouble.

HangulTap is a free tool made available by GlobalMaverick, a blog about learning and life as a global citizen. For more great tools and resources, go to http://globalmaverick.org/tools/

Getting better :)

The update to a better interface is good! It allows to study it differently. Like seeing a letter/symbol and matching it to it's romanization.
It would be more easy to learn hangul if you add like a speech playback of the character or letters! That way we'll know how to pronounce it as well.

Great stuff

This is the best app for practocing ur hangul knowledge
But for ppl who r like it's spelled hangeul not hangul... I've seen it spelled that was in other places in Korean ya put hangeul but this is written so as not to make it hard for ppl for enlist speakers it's easier to read it as hangul... Just sayin

too limited

The app displays a limited number of jamo (the components used for writing hangul), but not complete hangul syllables. After a few minutes it starts repeating the same sets of jamo in the same order. It becomes so predictable that one can click the correct answer without even reading the text.

Ideally, an app like this should progress from jamo, to complete syllables, to two syllables, to three syllables, and so forth. It also should display images of how ones lips should form each sound (since many of the jamo mimic the shape of the mouth). Finally, it should provide recorded pronuciations so that the user can hear each syllable. So far I have not found a single app with these features. Does it exist?
